Communication
Websites for volunteers are often difficult to manage. A top down approach means content is not updated often and communication between volunteers is limited - even when they are members of the same team. If you (or your volunteers) can use Facebook, you can use Vcots! Leaders and volunteers can easily contribute content and communicate directly with each other in a controlled, focused environment.
Organization
In the past, volunteer websites were organized into "all or nothing" groups - you were either "in" and could see everything or "out" and were limited. Vcots allows users to be sorted into geographical units, organizations and teams and delivers content to them based on their memberships - even when they belong to teams aligned with different organizations!
Administration
While users and admins can easily contribute content to their teammates, administrators can moderate what has been posted or promote useful content from other teams to their own groups. Priority communication from administrators can appear at the top of the page so critical messages can be delivered to everyone quickly and efficiently.
